How we work together

Every session is intuition-led. Janet uses crystals, tuning forks and the shamanic drum when the energy calls for them.

Reiki Healing

A deeply relaxing session channelling universal life energy. Crystals, tuning forks or the shamanic drum may be drawn in depending on what arises. Each session is shaped entirely by what that person needs.

Janet now uses her intuition to guide which tools she brings. No two sessions are the same.

Reiki and Sound Healing

A private 1:1 session combining Reiki with therapeutic sound. Tuning forks calibrated to specific frequencies, crystal bowls and gong work alongside the Reiki energy to release what is held and restore what has been lost.

Most people describe leaving this session feeling re-tuned.

Meditation and Sound Healing

Small group sessions of up to six people. Janet plays crystal singing bowls and gong, creating a soundscape the body simply surrenders into. No meditation experience needed. You lie down, close your eyes and let the sound do the work.

Maximum six per session. An intimate experience.

Monthly Sound Healing Group

Open monthly community sessions in the local area. No booking required. No experience needed. Come and feel the power of collective resonance.

Monthly Shamanic Drumming

Monthly drumming circles in the local area. The drum is the oldest healing technology we know. No experience needed. Just come and be present to what arises.

Distant Healing

Relax and receive Reiki in the comfort of your own home. Through focused intention, you will receive Reiki energy exactly as you would in the same room — the energy knows no distance. All you need to do is be still and receive.

Particularly helpful for those who cannot travel or who simply prefer to receive from home.

Janet teaches Usui Reiki at all levels. Passing on this gift and watching what happens when people receive their attunement is what drives her most. She describes it as helping people remember something that was always in them.

Many of her students go on to practise Reiki themselves, several becoming practitioners in their own right and joining the wider Amethyst community.

Your first day with Reiki is a special one. It could be likened to an awakening of the spiritual essence we all are. Once you feel the Reiki energy for yourself it can be quite profound. Open to it, trust the process, and it takes you on a journey of self-discovery — remembering your true self, and slowly finding that calm space within.

About the day

Groups of no more than four, in a relaxed, calm space. Trust that the universe will align the right people to share the day with you — energetically matched, so you feel at ease.

The morning covers the history of Reiki and the founder Mikao Usui: how Reiki came to be, the lineage of those who continued his work, and how it became one of the world's most recognised energy healing modalities. You then receive your attunement — opening you to the energy for self-healing and healing others.

The afternoon is practical. You work with the energy through meditations and hands-on healing originally taught by Mikao Usui. The chakra system and its relationship to Reiki is explained. The day finishes with you giving and receiving a full-body hands-on Reiki session.

You leave with a certificate and a full-colour 42-page manual. Join the community through the WhatsApp group and monthly Reiki share meet-ups.

Level 2 introduces three symbols that bring a more focused energy. The first two work on a physical, mental and emotional level. The third brings a feeling of oneness and is used for distant healing — the ability to send healing to any living being, anywhere, just as powerfully as being in the same room.

Level 2 also develops intuitive working: following that inner knowing to more easily direct the energy where it is needed. There are further tools at this level for more powerful, focused healing sessions.

Third degree Reiki (Shinpiden) is traditionally regarded as the Master level. It is important to be clear that initiation into third degree Reiki does not turn anyone into an enlightened spiritual master — however it is a spiritual contract to undertake to evolve to that stage. At this stage further change is inevitable, and you will be well aware of this from the changes that have already occurred on the way to the Master degree.

About the course

The Master/Teacher level is a two-day course. At this level the Usui Master symbol is taught along with Master self-empowerment meditations and how to give a more focused healing attunement.

As this level entitles you to pass on Reiki to others, you will also learn how to perform the Reiki energy attunements — the sacred act of opening another person to the energy, just as Janet once opened you.
